You’ve seen glimpses of combat. Moments of dialogue. Windows into a hostile galaxy.

Now, see it all come together.

The Extended Gameplay Reveal is here, straight from the Future Games Show Summer Showcase, and it’s the most comprehensive look at EXODUS you’ve seen. This is Jun Aslan’s journey across the Centauri Cluster. You’re a scrappy salvager turned Traveler pulled into the fight of your life, leading a crew of unforgettable companions across the most dangerous reaches of space, and exploring ancient ruins for what could save your homeworld from the Rot, a Celestial virus driving humanity toward extinction.

Game Director Chris King guides you through it all: combat across deadly worlds, exploration of fallen civilizations, Paladin and Immortal morality alignments that define who Jun becomes, companions—human and Awakened animal alike—who fight alongside you, and high-stakes decisions that shape how your story unfolds.

EXODUS launches Early 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and Epic Games Store.

EXTENDED GAMEPLAY REVEAL HIGHLIGHTS

The full reveal has a lot more, but here are some of the highlights.

Jun, Your Way
Customize Jun as a male or female Traveler and choose your look, gear, and morality alignment to shape how the galaxy sees you and responds to you.

You’ve been asking to see female Jun. You’ll spot her briefly in this reveal. We’re excited to share a fuller character reveal soon, so stay tuned.

Paladin and Immortal Morality Alignments
For the first time, you’ll see how Paladin and Immortal alignments shape Jun’s journey. Paladin is the path of virtue. You make choices that prioritize others, even when it costs you. Immortal is the path of ambition. You seize power and opportunity when it serves your goals.

That being said, not every decision is black and white. You’ll face morally gray choices where the answer isn’t clear. These moments happen throughout the game: in regular conversations with companions, in smaller interactions, and in major pivotal story beats.

Your alignment also ties directly to progression. The path you choose, whether Paladin or Immortal, affects which abilities you can upgrade and how your powers evolve.

Wield Traveler Tech
You’ll see the Recycler and Gauntlet in action throughout this reveal. They’re tools built for combat, traversal, exploration, and more.

The Recycler shifts between Repeater mode for steady mid-range fire, Shredder mode for close-quarters impact, and Piercer mode for even longer-range precision attacks. You’ll also see Bomber mode launching grenades and Specter for precision shots while in stealth. These are just a few of the modes at your disposal.

Your one-of-a-kind Gauntlet upgrades as you salvage alien tech, unlocking abilities like Eruption for launching enemies and shaping livestone terrain, and Lance for piercing strikes and clearing bramble left by the Rot. The railclaw gives you vertical mobility across hostile terrain.

Add in Precognition to mark enemy locations, incognito stealth attacks like Scramble Cloak, and Sonic Lure to draw hostiles into the fight, and you’ve got a versatile toolkit for whatever the Cluster throws at you.

A Closer Look at Your Crew
We’ve teased Phaedra Nath in our first dialogue reveal. Now she gets the spotlight. She’s a renowned xeno-archaeologist whose story is tangled up with the Celestials in ways she’s still discovering. You’ll fight alongside her, learn what drives her, and see how your relationship with her shapes both of your futures.

She’s one of several companions you’ll see: Tom Vargas an experienced Traveler who tends to be more cautious and helps teach Jun the ropes and provide moral perspective, Elise Charroux, an impatient mech pilot who loves to blow stuff up and leans into brute force, Salt an Awakened octopus mercenary who’s as deadly as she is intelligent, Houston (another Awakened friend), and the mysterious space cowboy C.C. Orlev voiced by Matthew McConaughey. Humans and Awakened animals. Each with their own skills, scars, and reasons for being there.

The Awakened: Integrated into Society
The result of bioengineering and cybernetics, the Awakened are highly intelligent animals brought on ark ships who speak, think, and live alongside humans. In this reveal, you’ll see that integration in action. An Awakened elephant runs a vendor stall, selling items and gear to Travelers. The Awakened aren’t just companions. They’re merchants, soldiers, medics, and more, woven into every part of society.

Shape Your Path Forward
In this reveal, you’ll see a decision moment where Jun must choose how to handle a tense situation with a companion.

Jun is in the control room with Tom and Elise. Elise sees an opportunity to open the airlock and purge a bunch of hostiles while you have the chance. Tom sees a risk: innocent people could be there. You don’t have time to verify.

Do you open the airlock and side with Elise? Or keep it sealed and trust Tom’s instinct?

Decisions like this ripple through your relationships. Companions who agree with you grow closer. Companions who disagree? You’ll have to navigate that tension. These moments echo through your crew, your story, and sometimes the lives of people back home. Some decisions play out immediately. Others take time to show their impact.

What would you have chosen to do in the control room?

Next Stop... Tsang
We teased this volcanic hellscape in our recent gameplay clips. In this reveal, you’ll see why Jun risks traveling to Tsang.

Extreme heat. Jets of sulfuric geysers. Rivers of molten sulfur. And plenty of enemies that adapted to this nightmare long before you showed up. This is one of the many hostile worlds you’ll raid hunting for ancient Remnants powerful enough to save Lidon.

Time
Time Dilation is woven into the fabric of the universe, and it affects everyone: your crew, the people you left behind, the worlds you encounter. Traveling at the edge of lightspeed across vast distances, days for you are weeks or months back home. You’ll see this play out particularly around Persepolis, Jun’s primary hub and a major city on Lidon for both humans and Awakened.

The Remnants you recover could save your homeworld. The ancient tech you uncover could change everything. But the ruins you raid and the mission you take cost time you can’t reclaim. Time with loved ones you can’t get back.

What you prioritize and what you decide to bring back impact how your journey unfolds. And the world—and people—you left behind won’t always be the same ones you return to.
