When we founded Archetype Entertainment, we wanted to push the boundaries of what RPGs could be. With EXODUS™, our sci-fi action-adventure RPG, we had a clear vision: create a protagonist whose journey from nobody to hero mirrors your own growth as a player. In Jun, the game’s main character, we hope to have created someone players can immerse themselves in as they confront humanity’s greatest threats 40,000 years in the future.
Today, I'm thrilled to announce that EXODUS launches Early 2027, and we're celebrating by unveiling our latest trailer: "The Rise of Jun Aslan."
From Salvager to Savior: Jun's Impossible Journey
You are Jun Aslan. When your story begins, you're not humanity's last hope. Not yet. You're a lowly salvager on Lidon, a dying moon forgotten by a galaxy that’s moved on. Each day, you scrape through forty thousand years of wreckage: the bones of dead ships and failed dreams left behind by voyagers who came before. That’s intentional. We want you, like Jun, to feel that sense of insignificance before the stars finally call to you.
In EXODUS, humanity has expanded deep into the Centauri Cluster, tens of millennia after Earth’s collapse. The first settlers who made that journey have since evolved into the Celestials—beings of immense power who now rule entire star systems and look upon humanity with disdain.
But in your veins runs something the Celestials fear. A genetic gift that makes you the only one who can face what’s coming.
Early in development, our team debated how powerful Jun should be at the start. Many of us have worked on games where you begin as the chosen one, already special. That didn't feel right for EXODUS. We wanted you to earn your place as a Traveler, one of humanity’s elite explorers who traverse time and space to steal alien technologies from beings who consider you beneath them.
We designed Jun as an unsuspecting hero who doesn't yet understand the depth of their power. That doubt, that imposter syndrome, that gradual confidence? That's you discovering what you're capable of. And more importantly, discovering who you want to be.
What excites me isn't just the extraordinary abilities you'll wield. It's that you never lose your humanity. You'll struggle with self-doubt. You'll make calls you regret and live with choices that have no right answer. We wanted a hero you genuinely want to become. Someone flawed, courageous, and deeply human. But what kind of person Jun becomes? That’s up to you. And it comes with a cost.
The True Cost of Being a Traveler
When we created the Travelers, we wanted them to embody the ultimate sacrifice. Interstellar travel at the edge of lightspeed means leaving behind the people you love, with time itself working against you. In that isolation, your companions become your lifeline. They're your anchors through space and time, the bonds that keep you grounded when so much feels uncertain.
Your crew spans species and backgrounds, each carrying their own scars across time. Companions like Tom, the soldier who’s seen too much. Elise, whose tough optimism masks deeper scars. Even Salt, an Awakened octopus in a mech suit, brings skills you didn't know you needed. They and many others aren’t just your allies. They’re a reminder of what, and who, you’re fighting for.
Which companions you trust, the ancient Remnant technology you master, the sacrifices you make... they ripple across generations. Because EXODUS isn’t just a survival story. It’s about loss, legacy, and the courage to keep fighting when time pulls you away from everything you love.
What's Next
In the coming year, we'll share more about your companions, the hostile worlds you'll traverse, and deeper looks at gameplay so you can see how Jun’s journey plays moment to moment.
For now, I hope "The Rise of Jun Aslan" gives you a glimpse of the hero—and the future—you’re about to shape.
To every player ready to step forward into the role of Jun, wishlist EXODUS today.
We can’t wait to hand Jun’s story over to you. Your choices will define Jun’s legacy and humanity’s future.
Early 2027 will be here before you know it. Let's take this journey to the stars—together.
